Strong Woman, Strong Nation
Gender inequality in Timor-Leste is a daily reality. In an attempt to eliminate gender gaps, the European Union Embassy in Timor-Leste wanted to create a campaign to raise awareness among East Timorense about this issue. But more than a communication campaign, it was necessary to create a message, a movement that was easily perceived by an audience with little perception of this subject. And that is how the “Fetu Forte, Nasaum Forte” – Strong woman, Strong nation movement was born in Tetu – the national dialect. Creating integrated communication through various means, but mainly with local actions, we managed to bring this topic to the conversations in Timor, showing that a country with strong women is a strong country.
